Geneviève Gros-Louis
Board Director, Landscape of Nations 360° and Composer & Musical Collaborator, Kakekalanicks
Geneviève Gros-Louis is an internationally acclaimed Huron-Wendat composer, producer, and violinist from Wendake Quebec, whose original scores bring emotional depth and cultural perspective to film, television, live performance, and immersive storytelling. A #GRAMMYsNextGen artist and member of the Recording and Television Academies, she brings accomplished musical artistry, international experience, and a commitment to Indigenous storytelling to the Board of Directors of Landscape of Nations 360°.
Her composing credits include multiple seasons of National Geographic’s Emmy-winning Life Below Zero, Magnolia Pictures’ A Savage Art: The Life and Cartoons of Pat Oliphant, and the award-winning short film Courage. Her original music has also been featured on AMC Networks’ Dark Winds. In 2025, she recorded her debut orchestral album at London’s Abbey Road Studios with members of the London Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for Audio Network. That same year, she premiered Ya’ta’ with Ensemble Urbain in Montréal, bringing the Wendat clay-creation story to life through an original musical work.
Working closely with LON360 president Michele-Elise Burnett and the Kakekalanicks team, Geneviève was instrumental in developing the video score for Waterway of Change, the Erie Canal bicentennial exhibit exploring the canal’s complex legacies and its impacts on Indigenous peoples. Her contribution demonstrates the power of composition to carry difficult histories with care and deepen audiences’ connection to the people behind the story.
Her ongoing creative relationship with Burnett and Kakekalanicks extends to original scores for sonic trails, theatrical productions, and immersive educational experiences. Their collaborations include Thunder Medicine, developed with William Reich Jr. for the Knox Farm eclipse performance, and Reawakening at Ball’s Falls, weaving her original compositions, violin, and Huron-Wendat storytelling into experiences rooted in land, water, and ancestral memory.
Through her board service, Geneviève contributes insight into musical storytelling, interdisciplinary collaboration, and cultural engagement. She supports LON360’s work to create meaningful encounters with Indigenous histories and living cultures, strengthening understanding and connection across generations.
